Mass vaccination is expected to start again from July, said the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Kaikaus. That is why Tk. 14,000 crore has been allocated for vaccines, he said.
He made the remarks at a press conference at the Prime Minister's Office on Thursday (June 17) on the transfer of land and houses between homeless and landless families.
Dr. Ahmed Kaikaus said everyone who is producing the vaccine is being contacted. The vaccine has been purchased at the lowest price so far. He also hoped that a large-scale vaccine will be available soon.
He said that the issue of vaccine has become a seller’s market. Nothing can be said in advance. If you say something in advance, many (countries) become angry. Vaccine-producing countries are making promises, but not implementing them.
"We don't want anyone's kindness, we just want to buy it," he said. That is why Tk. 14,000 crore has been allocated. Hopefully we will be able to start mass vaccination from July.
