Bangladesh envoy presents credentials to Kosovo President

Bangladesh Ambassador Md. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, ndc presented his credentials to Her Excellency the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Vjosa Osmani- Sadriu in a ceremony at the office of the President in Prishtina on Thursday.

The President of Kosovo had a meeting with the Ambassador after receiving the credentials.

During the meeting, the President congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment as non-resident Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kosovo. Bangladesh Ambassador conveyed to the President the sincere greetings and best wishes from Bangladesh President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said a foreign ministry press release on Friday.     

During the meeting, the Ambassador informed the President about the socio-economic developments taking place in Bangladesh under the leadership of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and briefed him about commendable achievements in economic and social sectors of Bangladesh.

In addition to that, Excellencies discussed the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and vaccine issue, possibilities of investment and development of trade relations, signing of the Avoidance of Double Taxation Treaty, Ease of visa for Diplomatic and official passport holders, cultural exchange, and people to people connectivity etc. The President sought the support of Bangladesh for Kosovo’s accession in the UN and other international forums.

In response, the Ambassador mentioned the similar history of struggle for Independence for both countries and how the people of Bangladesh stood against all odds under the leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He added that Bangladesh is always in support of Kosovo as a good friend.

At the end of the meeting, the President of Kosovo conveyed her best wishes to the Bangladesh President and the Prime Minister, it added.
