Rajshahi University's (RU) admission test for the 2020-21 academic year will be held from Monday (October 4) to October 6, after shifting of dates for the Corona pandemic. Several syndicates of fraudsters have already become active on the occasion of admission test. They have been accused of embezzling large sums of money by offering questions and answers to various online groups. However, the administration said that four levels of security have been put in place on the campus to ensure the smooth completion of the test.

For the past few years, there have been no allegations of leaking RU questions. However, a fraud ring is running a question and answer campaign on WhatsApp before tomorrow's exam. In addition, a few more syndicates are working to give prospects a chance to test using proxies and digital devices. The members of these syndicates include members of the ruling party's student body and university officials and employees.

The WhatsApp group said that the 36 sets of proposed questions & answers of A, B, and C units of Rajshahi University that I had promised to give together is now over. I hope to get 100% marks in the exam because questions will come from the questions suggested in your exam. This time the proposed questions were asked by a total of 12 people in each unit of 36 sets of questions. From there 3 sets of questions will come to A, B and C units. You will get them in a private group. Because giving publicly is a lot of risk. Those who want to join the private group, they have to pay Tk. 1500 for the picture of their admit card. I will select all of them and add them to your private group.

According to the relevant sources, the phone conversation of a BCL leader was leaked just before the admission test in 2018 where the BCL leader assured one of the applicants to be admitted to the university in exchange for money. They had a contract worth two and a half lakh taka. Earlier, during the 2014 admission test, a group of experts from Dhaka came to Rajshahi in a microbus to cheat in the test. Upon learning of the matter from law enforcement sources, the university administration immediately confirmed their position through tracking. Later they were sent back to Dhaka from Rajshahi in that car.

According to the registrar of the university, this year's admission test will start on Monday (October 4) with the examination of 'C' unit. Tests of this unit will be held in three shifts. The first shift test will start at 9:30 am and end at 10:30 am. The second shift test will start at 12 noon and end at 1 o'clock. The third shift test will start at 3 pm and end at 4 pm.

On the second day, October 5, the examination of ‘A’ unit will also be held in three shifts. Besides, admission test of 'B' unit (commerce) will be held on October 8.

Multiple law enforcement sources say the fraud rings became more active during the admission test. This time we are keeping an eye on more than one suspect in the admission test. That list also includes the leaders and workers of the student organization and the officials and employees of the university.

A former senior official of the university administration, who did not want to be named, said that various fraud rings were active even before the admission test. Now they are more powerful. It is important for the administration to be vigilant to stop them.

On the overall subject, the vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Sultan-ul-Islam, said, "We have completed all the preparations for the admission test." This time we are very careful about the fraud in the admission test. We have asked law enforcement to increase surveillance on campus. We will take immediate action in case of any untoward incident.
