The government has approved a pill called 'Malnupiravir' for the treatment of coronavirus in the country.
On Monday (November 8) Deputy Director of the Directorate of Drug Administration Ayub Hossain confirmed this information to the media.
He said the oral pills, made by US pharmaceutical company Mark & Rizbak Biotherapeutics, had been applied for approval by several organizations in the country for emergency use. In this context, the directorate has given initial approval.
The companies who sought approval for approval are, Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Limited, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Limited and a few others.
The United Kingdom approved the drug a few days ago. The company claims that the drug halves the risk of corona disease and hospitalization.
