The search committee will announce the names of all the nominees as chief election commissioner and other election commissioners.
The information was given by Justice Obaidul Hasan, chairman of the search committee, at the beginning of the third meeting with eminent persons at the Judges Lounge of the Supreme Court on Sunday (February 13).
He said political parties that have not yet been able to nominate will be able to do so by 5 pm on Monday (February 14).
Earlier, the search committee met with prominent citizens at 4 pm to seek their views on the formation of a new Election Commission (EC). The meeting was attended by eminent educationist Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, cultural personality Nasiruddin Yusuf Bachchu, Golam Quddus of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, Lt. Colonel (Retd.) Sajjad Ali Zahir, former Additional IGP Nurul Alam, lyricist and composer Gazi Mazharul Anwar, trustee of Bangladesh Liberation War Museum Mofidul Haque, SUJAN Secretary Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar, Professor Dr. Ainun Nishat, former Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain, economist Dr. Kazi Khaliquzzaman Ahmed, Asif Munir of Projanmo-71, Dr. Nuzhat Chowdhury, Professor Muntasir Mamun, writer and journalist Shahriar Kabir, Local Government Specialist Dr. Tofail Ahmed.
