EC (Election Commission) has said that although it was used in the city corporation elections, there is no plan of using CC cameras in the upcoming Jatiyo Sangsad elections, said Election Commissioner Md. Alamgir.

He said this while talking to reporters at his office in the capital's Agargaon election building on Sunday (August 6).

In response to a question from journalists, he said that the use of CC cameras in vulnerable centers was not discussed among the members of the Election Commission. No plan. Because when there is voting in 300 constituencies, there are 400,000 polling stations. There will be several vulnerable centers, it is difficult to monitor them by installing CCTV cameras in so many centers, he said.

However, in that case, we may increase the force by identifying special measures in vulnerable centers and appoint more members of the law and order force.

The Election Commissioner believes that if all parties participate in the election, the possibility of irregularities will also decrease.

He said, if all parties participate, there is already a balance. Rather than law and order forces, they play a role in maintaining order. Because they know that if any situation deteriorates in the election, or a fraudulent situation arises, they will be the ones who will suffer.

In response to a question about election observers, EC Alamgir said that the commission is not under any pressure regarding domestic and international observers. He also said that the commission has no objection to foreign observers if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues visas.

He said that instructions have already been given to the field level officials to select the parliamentary election center. In this regard, the committee consisting of Deputy Commissioner and Upazila Nirbahi officials is scheduled to submit the final draft list to the EC on September 24.
