Foreigners do not want the welfare of the people of Bangladesh. Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen commented that they want unrest here.

He made this comment in a citizens dialogue at Tafajjal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday (August 9) afternoon.

The foreign minister said that foreigners want unrest in Bangladesh. If the country is weakened by the unrest, it benefits them. Don't step into their van.

He said that 60 elections have been held in the country in the last six months. There are 22 more elections before the twelfth national elections. But, unfortunately UN, State Department of USA and UNA - they have to talk about Bangladesh elections every day.

He also said that Bangladesh should focus on how to maintain the pace of development. Elections are held in many parts of the world but there are no such talks. From 2001-2006 our economic and social condition can be seen. You will understand who is suitable for Bangladesh. Looking at the social and economic progress of the nation will make it clear who people will elect in the future.

Dr. Momen said that the developed countries have political stability. Countries where there is no political stability are fighting like Iraq and Libya. We want peace and order in the country. Then we can leave a better country for future generations. Otherwise, if BNP-Jamaat is elected, Bangladesh will again experience various anarchy including bomb attacks, militancy and grenade attacks in 64 districts. Once again Bangladesh will be first in corruption.

He said that the development of the country will be done by the people. We Awami League believe in our people. Our position will be in the judgment of the people. It doesn't matter what the foreigners said.
