BRTC's deal with CCC, hopes to save crores of money

The Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) is hoping to save several crores of money every year on vehicle repairs through the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC).

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the two institutions on Tuesday (September 19) afternoon at the Tigerpass CCC office.

 Chattogram City Mayor Bir Muktijoddha Md. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, speaking as the chief guest in the organized event, said that CCC, as the first city corporation of Bangladesh, has signed an agreement with BRTC for vehicle repair. Through BRTC, CCC's vehicles will get the best quality service which will make CCC's garbage management more dynamic, saving huge revenue.

Under this agreement, BRTC will repair our garbage management and official vehicles. Initially 157 garbage vehicles will be repaired under the contract. Gradually BRTC will repair all 601 vehicles of CCC. As a result, many of our idle vehicles will be operational, the efficiency of the vehicles will increase, and fewer vehicles will have to be hired from outside. Besides, transparency in vehicle repair costs will be ensured as government institutions work. CCC Mayor expressed the hope that as a result of this agreement, CCC will save several crores of money every year.

Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Muhammad Tauhidul Islam, Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam, Superintending Engineer Md. Akbar Ali, Executive Engineer Mirza Fazlul Quader were present on behalf of CCC. Director (Finance and Accounts)Dr. Anupam Saha was present on behalf of BRTC, General Manager Major Md. Jahangir Hossain Azad, Manager Md. Mofiz Uddin and Md Zulfikar Ali were present.
