The country saw the highest number of deaths in one day due to dengue when 21 more people died in the last 24 hours. 3015 people have been admitted to the hospital infected from dengue.
On Wednesday (September 20) evening, the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate of Health reported that 10 of the 21 people who died were from the capital Dhaka, and the remaining 11 were from outside Dhaka. With this, the number of people who died due to dengue this year has increased to 867.
The circular also informed that out of 3015 people have been admitted to the hospital, 857 people are in Dhaka and 2158 people are outside Dhaka. With this, the number of infected people in the country this year has increased to 176810 people.
Currently, a total of 10,263 dengue patients are receiving treatment in the hospital. Among them, 3819 people in government and private hospitals in Dhaka and 6444 people in hospitals outside Dhaka. And a total of 165680 people returned home after treatment.
A total of 281 people died from dengue in 2022. 27 people died of dengue in the last month of that year, December. At the same time, 62382 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue in the year under discussion.
