The Information minister said this while addressing as the chief guest at the tri-annual conference of Rangunia Upazila Jubo League of Chattogram on Saturday (September 23) evening.
Hasan Mahmud said, today when the country is moving forward, various anti-patriotic conspiracies have started. BNP gave a few days of mass march, some days of standing, some days of walking, some days of running programs, some days of sitting programs. Now BNP is left to give a creeping program. It is seen that everyone is running away from the BNP while trying to bring down the government.
The information minister commented that BNP has now taken the form of an old car. He said, 'When the car gets old, it has to be started frequently. Otherwise the battery will die. Sometimes BNP's car gets stuck without starting, that's why sometimes they try to keep the party strong by walking, sitting, running programs.
Commenting on the fact that BNP's gatherings are gradually getting smaller, the Information Minister said, BNP has no trust in the people, their gatherings are gradually getting smaller. That is why they frequently sit in front of foreigners. The visa policy announced by the US states that only those who will oppose a free and fair election will come under this visa policy. Now BNP is announcing to block the elections. BNP says it will resist the election. Then who will come under this visa policy asked the information minister.
Hasan Mahmud also talks about the US visa policy. He said, neither the government nor our party is feeling any pressure on the visa policy. We welcome it. Due to this, pressure has been created on BNP. They protested to foreigners to no avail. A fair, free and impartial election will be held. There will be public participation in that election.
The Information and Broadcasting Minister said to foreign friends, this country is ours, we will decide how the elections will be held in this country, the Election Commission will decide. We don't have to teach anyone democracy. We know the practice of democratic norms. We also know how to conduct fair and impartial elections. The next elections in the country must be free, fair and impartial. And through landslide victory in that election, People's leader Sheikh Hasina will once again take oath as the head of government for the fifth time.
