Police Superintendent of Mymensingh Masum Ahmed Bhuya said, we have statistics that madrasa students of the country are not being inducted into militancy. The number of madrasa students is very small. Modern education and university students are mostly involved in militancy. It should be kept in mind that a militant does not necessarily mean a madrasa student. University students are being inducted into militancy through modern technology. Various Facebook groups, YouTube, various software are working as main medium. Militancy is spreading through these platforms.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting on 'Terrorism, Militancy and Anti-Sectarianism' in the auditorium of Mymensingh Polytechnic Institute on Monday (September 25) to inspire the spirit of liberation war and patriotism.

With the aim of creating awareness against militancy and terrorism, awareness meetings are being held by the police in madrassas and schools-colleges of Sadar including the city. This meeting was organized as part of that.

Superintendent of Police said, communalism has no place in this country. Those who cannot accept the independence of the country spread communalism in the country. They are trying to thwart our economic development and freedom. You have to keep in mind that nothing will be allowed to disturb the communal harmony in view of the autumn festival.

Referring to the communal violence in Jailpara in Cumilla, he said, there is a lot of news on Facebook. How true is all the news on Facebook that needs to be verified. Social media rumors have to be verified to what extent they are true or false. You can't jump in the dark about something just seen on Facebook. If you students are not aware of yourselves, it is not possible for us alone to maintain law and order. Students will spread light in the society and stand against communalism and terrorism.

Referring to drug addiction as one of the country's problems, Masum Ahmed Bhuya said that there are many types of drugs at present. Students-parents should be careful about these issues. We all have a responsibility to fight drug addiction. We want to declare a zero tolerance war against drugs with everyone because in order to sustain this country, everyone must be a good citizen. We have to develop ourselves as the real wealth of the country. That will be real education and moral education. Without morals we can never be real people.

Presided over by Mymensingh Polytechnic Institute Principal Md Shaukat Hossain, chief instructor of the college Tashlima Akhtar, Chhatra League leader Shahinur Hossain Rabbi, student Jannatul Saima Tasfi also spoke. The program was moderated by instructor Jannatun Nargis Daisy.
