Foreign Minister stresses on completion of development projects on time

If the development projects are not completed on time, those concerned should be brought under punishment, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament of Sylhet-1 Constituency AK Abdul Momen.

The foreign minister said that there is development in Bangladesh. The government has undertaken many projects for the development of the country. Those concerned should be punished if these development projects are not completed on time.

He said that Sheikh Hasina wants to keep Bangladesh free from terrorism in order to strengthen relations with India. Bangladesh wants to create better relations with Indian education and culture because India and Bangladesh have many similarities in terms of culture and language. We define our future through mutual negotiation. By doing this, the relationship between the two countries is transformed into a good relationship. A hair-raising analysis is done to see if something new can be done between the two countries.

He said this at the Sylhet-Silchar festival on the second day of the four-day Bangladesh-India Friendship Dialogue in the hall of a prestigious hotel in Sylhet on Friday (October 6) afternoon.

The foreign minister said that the Dhaka-Guwahati air link will be launched very soon. First proposal was to launch the Dhaka-Sylhet-Guwahati flight. But, the authorities have taken the initiative to start the Dhaka-Guwahati flight for the time being. He cited slow expansion of Osmani International Airport as the reason for non-operation of Sylhet-Guwahati flights.

Former MP of India Swapan Das Gupta, Member of Bharat Foundation Suraiya Daval, Member of Rajya Sabha of India Raj Kumar Ranjan Singh and others spoke at the event.

At this time, the leaders of the two countries urged for unity in all fields besides cultural and political relations between Bangladesh and India.

This dialogue has been started like every year to strengthen friendly relations between Bangladesh and India and for the sake of education, culture and business development of both countries.
