Due to continuous heavy rainfall, water logging has occurred in many parts of the metropolis. Although the movement of people on the road has decreased since Friday evening, those who have gone out have suffered.

According to the Meteorological Department, 95 mm of rainfall has been recorded in Dhaka from 6 pm to 12 am.

Meteorologist Omar Farooq said that a total of 175 millimeters of rain has fallen in the capital in the last 30 hours.

Due to the rain for two consecutive nights, water has accumulated here and there on the roads of the capital.

Various parts of the road from in front of the Prime Minister's office to Agargaon were under water. From Sheorapara to Kazipara in Begum Rokeya Sarni, almost waist-deep water accumulates on both sides of the road.

A few vehicles were seen breaking down due to water entering the engine. Agargaon to Mirpur-10 also caused traffic jam. It took 40 minutes to cross this road.

Due to the influence of active monsoon and low pressure, heavy rainfall has been going on everywhere including the capital for several days.

Many cars are seen breaking down in the stagnant water in Dhanmondi, Newmarket and Dhaka University areas. Drivers and passengers got down on the road to push those cars in dirty water.

Not only in Dhaka, but the life of the whole country has been brought to a standstill by that unusual rain in the first week of October. Roads and localities have been submerged in water in districts, ponds have drowned and fish have been washed away.

The country's highest rainfall of 476 mm was recorded at Nikoli in Kishoreganj on Friday. This is the second highest rainfall recorded in a single day in the last five decades.

378 mm rainfall was recorded in Mymensingh on Thursday. The next day on Friday, that record was also crossed.

Meteorologist Omar Farooq said that due to the effect of low depression and active monsoon, there is continuous heavy rain in different parts of the country. Although the trend of rainfall in other areas will decrease from Saturday, it will continue in Sylhet-Mymensingh region. After a few days, the trend of rainfall across the country will gradually decrease.
