Election Commission team led by CEC kazi Habibul Awal after a meeting with President Md. Shahabuddin at Bangavaban today told the waiting journalists that upcoming Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election schedule would be announced soon.
 
Chief Election Commissioner said, I have informed the President about the preparations for the upcoming 12th Parliament elections. He is satisfied. The President expressed hope that the upcoming elections will be free, fair, impartial and orderly. He also assured all assistance for fair elections.
 
He said, we have also said that we will seek the help of the President if necessary. He assured that he will provide any kind of assistance for the sake of fair elections. The President said, democratic, constitutional continuity should be continued at any cost.
 
We have stated - the constitutional duty imposed on us; The obligation is accordingly determined to conduct the election at the prescribed time and in the prescribed manner. We are seeking the cooperation of all political parties, government and people in that regard.
 
I have assured the President - we will be able to hold elections on time in the light of constitutional obligations with the cooperation of all.
 
He also said that we have informed the President about the possible schedule - elections are urgent. The President knows the end time. At any rate we must have elections before January 29. We will discuss among ourselves and fix the possible time.
 
CEC said, we will announce the schedule soon. Because it's time. I said about the election - in the first week or the second week that I am still in that state. We will tell you when we sit and finalize, the commission will decide in the meeting.
 
Meanwhile, the countdown to the 12th Parliament election has started from November 1. In this case, there is a constitutional obligation to complete the polling by January 29, 2024.
 
Meanwhile, according to EC sources, all work is being carried forward with the aim of announcing the schedule in the second week of November this year.
 
According to the Election Commissioners, the schedule is to be announced in the first half of November. Accordingly, the mid-schedule is to be announced on November 15. Polling is scheduled to take place in the first week of January.
 
EC published the final voter list for the 12th parliamentary elections. It can be seen that the current total voters in the country are 11 crore 96 lakh 91 thousand 633 people. According to the information given by EC, among the total voters, male voters are 6 crore 7 lakh 71 thousand 579 and female voters are 5 crore 89 lakh 19 thousand 202 people. And 852 Hijra voters. About 10  polling officers will be appointed to organize the upcoming 12th general elections.
