On the second day of the hearing of the appeals filed against the decision of the Returning Officers in the 12th Jatiya Sangsad(JS) Elections, 51 candidates were declared valid out of 100 appeal hearings. 41 candidates did not get back. 8 people were not informed of the decision. 108 people got their candidature back in two days.
On Sunday (December 10), this information was revealed by the Law Branch of the Election Commission.
On the first day, 57 candidates returned their candidature. There were 32 rejected and 6 undecided.
561 appeals have been filed against the decision of the Returning Officers. And on December 10 to 15, the Election Commission will decide the appeal applications.
As per the schedule announced by the EC, the deadline for withdrawal of candidature is December 17. The Returning Officers will allot the symbols on December 18. The election campaign will continue till 8 am on January 5. And the polling will be on January 7 (Sunday).
