The program of feeding capsules to more than 2 crore 58 lakh children starts today Tuesday (December 12). The government of Bangladesh has taken the aim of national vitamin 'A' plus campaign and feeding capsules to children across the country. This program will run from 8 am to 4 pm.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek will inaugurate this program at 11 am on Tuesday (December 12) at Nipsom Auditorium in Mohakhali of the capital. These data are known from the Expanded Immunization Center (EPI) of the Directorate of Health.

According to the Directorate, under the program, 2.787 thousand 500 children aged 6 to 11 months will be fed blue colored 'A Plus' and 23 lakh 2 crore children aged 12 to 59 months will be fed one red colored 'A' capsule. A total of 2 crore 58 lakh 76 thousand 500 children will be fed this capsule in all government health centers and mobile health centers in the day-long program.

According to the direction of the Directorate, children should be brought to the center with a full stomach to take vitamin 'A' plus capsules. Children aged six months to five years will be fed these capsules. Children above five years of age and sick cannot be fed. 240,000 healthcare workers and 40,000 health workers will work on feeding vitamin capsules to children in 120,000 centers across the country.

During the Vitamin A Plus campaign, in addition to feeding A capsules, feeding the newborn with whole milk after birth, feeding only breast milk to the child up to 6 months; The source of the Directorate also informed that when the child completes 6 months, besides mother's milk, the message of feeding home-made balanced food in quantity will also be disseminated.

The government's National Nutrition Service (NNS) is responsible for the implementation of the 'A Plus' campaign and the entire program of feeding capsules to children.
