Miscreants set fire to a covered van in Sylhet at midnight. Most of the covered van was burnt in this incident.
The incident took place on Tuesday (December 12) at around 12.30 pm in Sylhet-Jokiganj highway in Maizbhag area of Fulbari union of Golapganj upazila.
The matter was confirmed by Golapganj Model Police OC Investigation Suman Chandra Sarkar.
In this regard, Mohammad Alamgir, the driver of the covered van, said, "We were coming from Shahgali area of Jokiganj to our company's depot in Sylhet's Lalabazar. Suddenly, 7-8 masked men with two motorcycles stopped the car at a place called Maizbhag. Then they dropped me and the helper from the van. The van was set on fire.
In this regard, Golapganj Model Police Station OC Investigation Suman Chandra Sarkar said, we went to the spot after getting the information and found the fire affected Covered van. Since the miscreants set fire to the van coming on motor-bike so this can be called arson.
