Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said that there is no possibility of voting on the night before the election.

The CEC said this to the journalists after an exchange of views with administration and election officials at the Primary Teachers Training Institute (PTI) auditorium in Sadarghat, Chattogram city on Tuesday (December 26) afternoon. Before this, he held a view exchange meeting with the candidates of Chattogram at the city's LGED auditorium.

The CEC said that there is no possibility of shifting from the place where the vote is cast or given. We can confirm that 100%. And if the ballot paper does not go to the center on the morning of the polling day, even 10 days or 10 months before, then the candidates can ask their polling agents to stay at the polling center in the morning and check whether the ballot boxes are empty or not. We have asked the candidates to send the ballot paper to the center in the morning to gain confidence. Polling agents must stand there and check that the ballot boxes are empty. They will remain there until the counting and announcement are completed to ensure that the counting is done correctly.

Highlighting the experience of exchanging views with the candidates, CEC said, "We have exchanged views with the candidates in the morning. I heard their speech. We informed them of our instructions. The candidates told us that the law and order situation is still fairly good. They told about such isolated incidents like posters being damaged, someone setting fire to the election campaign office. Most of the candidates expressed satisfaction with Returning Officer, Police Administration.

In the exchange meeting, some candidates expressed doubts about the vote. Based on their statement, CEC also said that two to four of them (candidates) said something, what will be the benefit of voting, the vote will go to one place. And some have said verbally, wherever you vote, the vote will come like a place. We have heard such things. But by now we know it is deliberate misinformation or anti-campaign.
