“Through proper training improvement of the workforce is possible"-PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, by providing proper training, morale, efficiency and overall improvement of an employee is possible; Which is the key to human resource development.

In a statement on the occasion of the 28th National Training Day on Monday (January 22),she said, “I am very happy to know that the Bangladesh Training and Development Society (BSTD) is going to celebrate the 28th National Training Day. On this occasion, I extend my best wishes and congratulations to all associated with BSTD.”

The Prime Minister said, 'The Awami League government is working very diligently to implement Vision 2041 with the commitment to successfully implement the development philosophy and dream of building a golden Bangladesh of the greatest Bengali of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh has already qualified to join the ranks of developing countries. Bangladesh is now being recognized in the international arena as a role model for development. We have established Digital Bangladesh by running the government continuously for the last 15 years.

She said, 'Our current goal is to build 'Smart Bangladesh'. Moreover, we are rapidly progressing to achieve all the targets set for Bangladesh in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 and have also started implementing the 'Bangladesh Delta Plan, 2100'. Human resource development has been given priority in all these plans.

Sheikh Hasina said that the global economic crisis caused by the global corona pandemic, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and the attacks of the Israeli occupying forces on the freedom-seeking Palestinians, the humanitarian disaster caused by the genocide in Myanmar and the 11 lakh  Rohingya people who fled in fear of their lives have put additional pressure on our normal development progress. Our government has taken all preparations to build a developed and prosperous state by facing any present and future challenges.

She said, 'We are implementing multifaceted and practical programs to increase the professionalism, quality of work and speed of work of government employees. Realizing the importance and necessity of training in our public administration, we have strengthened and accelerated the development and reform activities of the training sector. We are developing the infrastructure of training institutes along with increasing the allocation in the training sector. The basic training period of cadre officers has been increased from four months to six months. We are taking and implementing various reform programs including increasing the scope of training at home and abroad with the aim of making the Bangladesh Civil Service a service-oriented, development-friendly and modern institution.

The Prime Minister said that BSTD has been conducting various training courses for human resource development for a long time. The institute is playing an important role in the development of our human resources by developing practical training programs, conducting research, organizing higher training in coordination with public and private training institutes. Moreover, the institute is publishing regular training journals and newsletters and has introduced 'BSTD Training Award' in recognition of special contribution in training and human resource development.

She said, 'I hope that BSTD will give full support to take forward the development plans taken by our government, play a strong role in making Bangladesh from the position of a developing country to a developed and prosperous 'Golden Bangladesh' and 'Smart Bangladesh' by the year 2041. .'

The Prime Minister wished the overall success of all the programs undertaken on the occasion of 28th National Training Day.
