Writ in High Court seeking closure of restaurants in residential areas including Bailey Road

A writ petition has been filed in the High Court seeking closure of restaurants in all residential establishments including Bailey Road in the capital.

Advocate Yunus Ali Akand filed the writ in the relevant branch of the High Court on Sunday (March 3) morning.

Also, the writ sought directions to arrest the real culprits in the fire at Bailey Road. At the same time, directions are sought to compensate the families of the victims.

A double bench of the High Court is scheduled to hear the matter on Sunday.

A case has been filed over the Bailey Road fire. Katcchi Bhai manager Jisan, Tea Chumuk owners Anwarul Haque and Shakeel Ahmed Rimon and Green Cozy Cottage Bhavan manager Hamimul Haque Bipul were arrested. Later, the court remanded them for two days.

It should be noted that a fire broke out in the building named Green Cozy Cottage on Bailey Road on Thursday (February 29) night. 46 people died in this incident. Eleven people were injured and are undergoing treatment in the hospital, their condition is critical.
