Seven people were killed in a three-way collision involving a bus, an auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle at Parerhat in Pirojpur. Ten more people were injured in this incident.
The accident happened around 12 noon on Friday (March 8). The names of the victims were not immediately known.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station Md. Ashikuzzaman confirmed the accident.
According to fire service sources, the death toll may increase. Efforts are underway to identify the victims.
According to Pirojpur Fire Service and local sources, on Friday around 12:15 pm on the way from Pirojpur to Parerhat, passengers got off the auto-rickshaw at a place called Jhautla. At that time, a passenger bus from Pirojpur on its way to Indurkani overran the auto rickshaw when it tried to sidestep a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction and a three-way collision took place between the auto rickshaw, motorcycle and bus. 4 people were killed on the spot and 3 more succumbed to their injuries on the way to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital.
