Capital's Postogola Bridge (Buriganga-1) is being opened tomorrow Saturday (March 9) as the renovation work is over. All types of vehicles will be able to move through the bridge from 6 am on that day.

The Directorate of Roads and Highways informed this information in a message on Friday (March 8).

Before this, the renovation work of the bridge started from last February 22. During this time, heavy vehicles were instructed to use alternative routes.

Incidentally, on June 29, 2020, the rescue ship Pratyay came to rescue the launch Morning Bird, which sank after being hit by the Mayur-2 launch in the Sadarghat area of the Buriganga river. At that time, while crossing the Postogola bridge, the ship hit the bridge and got stuck. It damaged the deck and beams below the bridge. Since then, vehicles have been allowed to ply on the bridge after several renovations.
