Jagannath University (JnU) student Fairuz Avantika committed suicide by hanging herself by writing a post on social media Facebook. She was a 14th batch student of the University's law department.
In a long post shared on Facebook, she blamed her classmate Amman Siddiqui and the University's assistant proctor Deen Islam.
Fairuz Avantika commited suicide by hanging herself at her home in Cumilla Sadar at around 9:30 pm on Friday (March 15). Later, she was immediately rescued and taken to the district headquarters hospital, where the doctors in charge declared him dead.
In her shared post, Avantika said, "If I ever die by suicide, my classmate Amman Siddiqui will be solely responsible for my death, and Jagannath's assistant proctor Deen Islam, who supported him as he had a good relationship with him. Amman who took me offline. I complained to proctor's office about online threats and to no avail. Deen Islam was threatening me in many ways for Amman that expelling me is like dirt on his hands. I know I won't get any justice here because Deen Islam has many followers. I will stand by him. I knew this man or not. Amman made sexually abusive comments to me and when I protested him, he took refuge in Deen Islam to take care of me. And Deen Islam then called me alone in the proctor's office and abused women. Even though it was a long time ago, he still defaming me in many ways, saying different things to different people. And the amount of pain this man wants to inflict on the students of his children's age for the sake of Cumilla's student welfare, if anyone in Cumilla has the guts to admit it. This man called me to the proctor's office 7 times in the wake of Amman's complaint and said 'Why are you slapping this boy? If I beat you with my shoes now, who will save you now?'
Pity this man was a very prominent student leader of DU. He is now Jagannath's proctor, despite serving in jail once. Even though his political and corruption hand is not very long, it does not remain in this post even after so many scandals. Where this man's job was to be a guardian and he didn't release me until my life ended.
I sought justice from the Vice-Chancellor Sadeka Halim Ma'am as the guardian of this institution.
And I die by hanging. What happened to me that a person who loves himself so much like me, that person can do such a thing? I know it's not a solution, but it doesn't let me live, I believe. I am a fighter. I wanted to live! And don't trouble my family by doing post mortem. My father has already died less than a year ago, my mother is alone. Don't embarrass him. It's not suicide, it's murder. Technically murder. And Amman, my classmate eve teaser, was telling me that he would make my life such that I could not move without dying. Even I tried to fight. Now the back is against the wall of endurance.
Regarding the complaint, Amman Siddiqui said, I have not had any contact with him for a long time I am not even connected to Facebook, Messenger or anywhere. I need evidence to prove my guilt. These allegations are baseless without evidence.
Accused Assistant Proctor Deen Islam could not be reached even after repeated calls on the mobile phone.
