Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that the safety of the sailors comes first. Besides, there are many flammable materials in the ship. Nothing can be done hastily to damage the ship.

He said these things in response to a journalist's question after the district development coordination meeting at Chattogram Circuit House on Saturday (March 23) afternoon.

The minister also said that efforts are being made to rescue the sailors as soon as possible. In the meantime, contact has been made with the ship owner and the pirates. Besides, various international organizations are also supporting us. Although earlier it took us 100 days to rescue the ship, we are hopeful that we will be able to rescue the ship and sailors soon.

At that time, the minister also said that the BNP is trying to increase the price of goods in the country by calling for a boycott of Indian products.

Note that on March 12, Somali pirates hijacked a Bangladeshi-owned ship named MV Abdullah in the Indian Ocean. The cargo ship was going from Mozambique in Africa to the Middle East country of the United Arab Emirates. The ship has 55 thousand tons of coal. All 23 sailors on board are Bangladeshi. Family members were in contact with the ship's sailors until Tuesday (March 12) evening. Many sent voice messages to share their situation. But since then, not knowing about the family members, anxiety is working between them though they are being repeatedly assured by the government and the owners.
