In the ongoing clash between the Arakan Army and armed forces in Myanmar's Rakhine state, the sound of mortar shells and gunfire can be heard on the Teknaf border in Cox's Bazar.

After 10pm on Sunday, heavy gunfire was heard intermittently on the Naf River border in Hoikung, Teknaf. Earlier on March 18, the locals heard the sound of mortar shells on the border.

This information has been confirmed by Noor Kabir, UP member of Ward No. 6 of Hoikang Union Parishad. He said, 'Now it is 1 am, still the sound of gunfire is heard on the border. Heavy gunfire is heard even up to my house.

Locals said, after being stopping for a few days, the loud sound of Myanmar's heavy gunfire is being heard from Kharankkhali, Naya Bazar, Mina Bazar, Kanjor Para, Jimmkhali, Unchiprang, Lombabil border of Huaikong border since Sunday night. There is panic among the border people.

Mohammad Farooq, a resident of the Hoikang border, said, "Heavy gunfire has been heard from across the Naf river since Sunday night. People in border areas are in panic. It seems that someone is digging the soil and taking it.

Mohammad Alam, UP member of Ward No. 8 of Hoikang Union Parishad in Teknaf, said that the sound of gunfire is heard on the border. Compared to other days, today's words are harsh.

It should be noted that the Myanmar army is fighting fiercely with the country's separatist organization Arakan Army in the cities of Maungdoo and Buthidong. BGB and Coast Guard have increased patrols in the 54 km Naf River from Hoikang in Teknaf Upazila to Shahpari Island.

Before this, BGB's Teknaf-2 battalion commander Lt. Col. Mohiuddin Ahmed said that besides preventing border infiltration, BGB members are ready to deal with any situation.
