Drastic fall in stock market again

After a two-day rise, the stock market again fell sharply. On Sunday (March 24), the share prices of most of the companies in the country's two stock markets Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) fell.

As a result, the value has decreased. However, despite the decrease in transactions in DSE, there was a slight increase in CSE.

Shares and unit prices of most companies continued to rise in the first two hours of trading on Sunday. At one stage of the transaction, the main index of DSE increased by 40 points. But in the last hour and a half of trading, one class of investors increased the selling pressure.

As a result, the share and unit prices of most companies in all sectors fell on average. Shares of 65 companies rose in DSE at the end of the day's trading. The price has been reduced by 304. The price of 28 remains unchanged. DSE's broad index fell by 40 points to 5,901 points.

Among the other two indices, the DSE-30 index has decreased by 5 points compared to the previous day at 2 thousand 51 points. The DSE Shariah index fell by 8 points to 1,285 points compared to the previous day.

Along with the fall in prices, transactions also fell. Tk. 580 crore 33 lakh has been traded in DSE. Tk. 610 crores and 8 lakhs were traded on the previous working day. Accordingly, the transaction decreased by Tk. 29 crore 75 lakh.

Shares of Asiatic Laboratories contributed the most in this transaction. Shares of the company have been traded worth Tk. 33 crore 3 lakh. The shares of Best Holding, which was ranked second, were traded at Tk. 31 crore 11 lakh. Fu-Wang Ceramics is in the third position with a share transaction of Tk. 23 crore 57 lakh.

The top ten companies traded on DSE include- Golden Son, Central Pharmaceuticals, Malek Spinning, Shinepukur Ceramics, Emerald Oil, Orion Pharma and Golden Harvest.

Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) overall price index CASPI decreased by 64 points. 57 of the 235 firms participating in the market rose in price. 152 fell and 26 remained unchanged. Tk. 58 crore 44 lakh has been transacted. Tk. 18 crore 32 lakh was traded the previous day.
