Bangladesh’s grand victory at Filmfare: Jaya, Farin and Sohail win

Bangladeshi actors and actresses have competed in this year's Filmfare Awards. Award winners are Jaya Ahsan, Tasnia Farin and Sohail Mondal.

The 'Filmfare Awards Bangla 2024' ceremony was held in Kolkata on Friday (March 29). For Bangladeshis, this event is more interesting than any other time because this time there were 8 nominations in the list.

Jaya Ahsan has bagged several Filmfare awards before. This talented actress was also nominated this time. This time too she played the game.

Jaya Ahsan, a popular actress of Bengal, has been nominated in two categories this time. Although she did not win the award for the best actress in a leading role for the movie 'Dasham Avatar', Jaya won the award in the best supporting actress category for her performance in the movie 'Ardhangini'.

In the Best Supporting Actress category, she had to compete with Ansuya Majumder, Aparajita Adhya, Mallika Majumder and Srabanti Chatterjee.

Popular actress Tasnia Farin also received two nominations. The Best Newcomer Award went to her home. Sreeja Dutta and Soumitrisha Kundu were on the nomination list with him.

Apart from this, Fareen was nominated for the best actress by the critics. Bangladesh's talented actress Api Karim was nominated in the same category. Api Karim was nominated for the movie 'Mayar Janjal', a joint production directed by Indranil Roy Chowdhury. And Tasnia Farin for Atanu Ghosh's ' Aro Ek Prithibi'. Anuradha Mukherjee, Gargi Roy Chowdhury, Mamata Shankar and Swastika Mukherjee were also on the list with them. However, neither Api nor Farin got the award in this category.

Bangladesh also won the Best Newcomer Award. Sohail Mondal received this award for the movie 'Mayar Janjal'. However, he could not attend the event due to lack of visa. Sohail Mondal was also nominated for Best Actor in a supporting role.

Besides, the young singer of Bangladesh Mahtim Shakib got a place in the list of the best singers. He received a nomination for his song 'Tumi Tahain Paro Na' in the movie 'Chini 2'. Along with that, Mahatim also received his first Filmfare Bengal nomination for his song in the movie 'Prem Tem'. Singer Asif Iqbal of Bangladesh also received a nomination at that time. Mahtim was nominated twice, but the award remained elusive!
