Bangladesh expressed grief over the death of Win Rosario, a Bangladeshi youth who was shot dead by police in the United States. Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Hasan Mahmud demanded the prosecution of the guilty through a fair investigation. Hasan Mahmud.

He said this in response to questions from journalists at the Awami League central office on Bangabandhu Avenue on Saturday (March 30).

Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, recently a young Bangladeshi was shot dead by the police in New York. This incident is very sad. Our Consul General met the family of the slain youth. The family said the circumstances in which the police fired were not necessary. The police have a different opinion. The young man was shot six times. This incident is very sad. We hope the New York administration will conduct a fair investigation into this incident. If any overreaction is found and such a person is found guilty, action will be taken against them.

He said that the family of the deceased youth went to New York 10 years ago. They are passport holders of Bangladesh. Applied for green card, but not yet received green card.

The Foreign Minister said that the United States is our close ally. Recently, through the letter of US President Joe Biden and the return letter of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we are working on increasing our closeness, friendship and relationship.

He said that the pirates of Somalia have already been contacted; talks are going on with them. I hope to free our citizens and the ship as soon as possible through dialogue. All sailors are fine. They are in the cabin. They have no problem getting food. No ill-treatment of sailors has been done so far.

Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that three officers of the Myanmar army have fled to Bangladesh. They are in the custody of our BGB. Myanmar has already offered to take those fleeing back by sea. We hope to send them back by sea very soon.
