Health Minister urged everyone to come forward by doing more to serve the people by speaking less to fulfill the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Dr. Samant Lal Sen said, our duty is to serve the people. We don't have to talk big, we have to act.

He said, it is very difficult to see the plight of people in the villages while seeking health care. Bangabandhu will be given due respect if we can do something for them.

The Health Minister said this while addressing as the chief guest at a discussion program on 'The Historical Leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman' organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatun Nessa Mujib Convention Hall in the capital on Saturday (March 30).

Bangabandhu fought for 23 years - Bangladesh will be independent one day. The country of his long dream has become independent. But he did not get the opportunity to arrange the country as per his dreams. He was in power for only three years.

The Minister said that although the country was independent after 9 months of war, there was no wealth or money in the country. There is no sector where he has not started working with the responsibility of the famine-stricken country. All the good initiatives in the health sector were started by the Father of the Nation. As he started, they were not implemented due to various nefarious circles in the country.

He said, now his privileged daughter Sheikh Hasina is implementing her father's work one by one. Our responsibility is to implement Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's initiatives for the people. To do that, we don't have to talk big, we have to act. So we can show our ability by talking fewer words, we have to enter the field for that purpose. After Eid, I will again enter the field to improve the quality of grassroots health care. If necessary, I will go to remote villages. I will do whatever it takes to make the country's medical system accessible to people.

State Minister of Health Dr. Rokeya Sultana said that Bangladesh was born after the 23-year sacrifice of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. How many days he worked without food to unite the people of the country is not counted. Many countries in the world have been fighting for freedom for ages, but have not been able to become independent. How Bangladesh could, how India jumped to help Bangladesh in the liberation war! These are not like that anymore. Bangabandhu had courage, his heart was big. That is why Bangladesh became independent so early. Many countries are not able to become independent because they do not have a brave leader like Bangabandhu.

Under the chairmanship of the Secretary of Health Education and Family Welfare Division Azizur Rahman, the President of Bangladesh Medical Association Dr. Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, President of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad Dr. Jamal Uddin Chowdhury, VC of BSMMU Deen Mohammad Nurul Haque, Director General of Health Directorate ABM Khurshid Alam, Director General of Health Education Directorate Professor Tito Mia, Director General of Family Planning Department Sahan Ara Banu, Director General of Nursing and Midwifery Department Maksura Noor, Acting Secretary of Health Care Department Muhammad Wahiduzzaman and other officials and persons also spoke.
