After the launch of Padma Bridge for the last two years, at least a few days before and after Eid, the launch owners are expecting that the number of passengers will be seen on the roof of the launch on the Dhaka-Barishal river route.
Alhaj Saidur Rahman Rintu, Vice President of Central Launch Owners' Association and owner of Sundarban Launch, said, "We have already held a meeting in Dhaka regarding Eid special service fares and advance ticket sales. Advance ticket sales will start from April 2. We hope that the number of passengers will increase more than the previous 2 years, our target business is not to increase the interest of passengers in the launch.
He said, this year, compared to the previous years, we will reduce the fare by Tk. 100 from the rent fixed by the government, this year we will charge only Tk. 350 and the rent is free for children. A single cabin costs Tk. 1200 and double Tk. 2400 which is less than other days. In recent times, road accidents have increased a lot. There will also be traffic jams on Eid. All in all, the journey will be cheap and easy at the launch.
