Demra bus fire under control

A fire broke out in several buses standing at Demra in the capital. Later, 5 units of fire service brought the fire under control after about an hour's effort.

The fire incident occurred on Monday (01 April) at 8:50 PM. The fire came under control at 9:48 pm.

The matter was confirmed by Anwarul Islam Dolan, Media Officer of Fire Service.

He said that some Volvo buses standing in Dharmikpara bus stand area of Demra caught fire. After receiving information, the fire was brought under control by 5 units of Siddique Bazar station of fire service. The fire service was able to bring the fire under control in about an hour.

He also said that 14 buses got burnt due to fire. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately known.
