Police and BGB launched a joint operation against the armed group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) in connection with the robbery of 3 banks in Ruma and Thanchi of Bandarban. The army will also join them.
The Home Minister said these things in response to a question from journalists at his office in the Secretariat on Wednesday (April 3).
He said, lately we are seeing Kuki-chin raising its head again. In the meantime, police and BGB have started operations. If necessary, the army will also join the operation.
He also said that the Kuki-Chinese terrorists blocked the electricity substation in Ruma and attacked the Sonali Bank. At that time the police and those in charge of law and order were offering Taraweeh prayers. They also tried to rob Krishi Bank and Sonali Bank in Thanchi today. All necessary measures will be taken to prevent it.
The Home Minister said that Kuki Chin's involvement in the bank robbery incident was found. However, the detailed information is not known yet. A team headed by Inspector General of Police is there. They are looking at the overall aspect.
