Jatiya Party Member of Parliament Hafizuddin Ahmed has claimed that 90 percent of government officials and employees are involved in corruption. He said that everyone who works in Customs has two-three houses in Dhaka city. Those who work in the Forest Department have two or three gold shops. If the Prime Minister takes action, then we can prevent corruption. If not, the rate at which big officials and employees are corrupting, what to do? We are helpless. There are many government officials who are also helpless. Because, here 90 percent of people are on that side (corruption), what will 10-15 percent of people do better?

He said these things while participating in the discussion on the amendment of the 2024-25 budgets of the 12th Jatiyo Sangsad on Saturday (June 29). Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury presided over the session.

Hafizuddin said, during the election, I gave what assets I have in the affidavit. Then after five years I gave the affidavit again in the election. How much the property has increased there, whether it has increased a hundred times or five hundred times, it is news in the newspaper? Our paperwork comes. But when the government employees first joined the service, they would have given an affidavit. Then five-ten years were spent giving affidavits and discussing them. Then the key to corruption would be closed. Otherwise it won't stop. It will continue

Highlighting the government's success, JP MP said, the government has received many praises. But if only corruption can be stopped, the name of the Prime Minister will be written in golden letters as Bangabandhu's name is written in history. Taking action will prevent corruption. If the records of all government officials and employees are prepared in the same manner as the records of MPs, then corruption can be prevented.

Stating that there is no office in the constituencies of parliamentarians, Jatiya Party MP Hafizuddin Ahmed said, "I use my house as an office in the upazila where I live." But there is no place to sit in another upazila. Either you have to sit with the table next to Mr. UNO. He said, there is a lot of arbitration in the constituency. Many problems have to be solved. Having to sit with various departments including LGED, it is better to have an office. He requested allotment of offices for Members of Parliament in each constituency.
