According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, legal action will be taken in the event of clashes and vandalism inside the mosque centered on leading Friday prayers at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

This information was informed in a notification of the Ministry of Religious Affairs sent to the media on Friday (August 20) night.

It is said that clashes and vandalism took place inside the mosque during Friday prayers at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Such attacks and damage to the National Mosque are highly undesirable, reprehensible and heinous crimes.

The government is determined to take strict legal action against the criminals subject to proper investigation of this incident.

It is known that the current khatib Hafez Maulana Mufti Dr. Waliur Rahman Khan of Baitul Mukarram before the start of Friday prayers was ‘boyan’. At that time, after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in the students' uprising, the fugitive Khatib Maulana Mufti Ruhul Amin came to Baitul Mukarram Mosque with his followers and put his hands on the microphone of the current Khatib. Later the followers of the current Khatib resisted the followers of Ruhul Amin.

Then a scuffle took place between the two parties. Several people were injured in the incident. Later Khatib Mufti Ruhul Amin left the mosque without praying. Army, police and RAB members reached the spot after receiving the news. Later, when the atmosphere calmed down, ordinary worshipers again entered the mosque.
