Brahmanbaria District Jubo League Vice President Sumon Mia has been arrested with weapons by the joint forces.
He was arrested from the Madhyapara area of the district town on Friday (October 18) around 9:30 pm.
This information was confirmed in a press release sent by the joint forces to media persons on Friday night.
Suman Mia is the vice-president of district Jubo League and a resident of Madhyapara area of the town. He is the son of Poura Awami League President Haji Mohammad Muslim Mia.
According to the notification sent by the joint forces, Suman was arrested in the Madhyapara area of the district town at night on the basis of secret information. After searching his residence an illegal pistol, an empty cartridge and three rounds of ammo were found. Later he was handed over to Sadar Model Police Station.
It was informed in the notification that this operation of the joint forces will continue to recover illegal weapons and arrest terrorists.
