President Md. Shahabuddin's resignation has not been decided yet, said Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the interim government's chief adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
On Wednesday (October 23), in response to a question about the resignation of the President, the press secretary said, so far we can say that no decision has been made in this regard.
Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said, "So far we can say, no decision has been made in this regard. If there is a decision on the resignation of the President or any other issue, you will know."
The press secretary said, there has been no discussion between the Chief Adviser and the BNP regarding the resignation of the President. This is a routine discussion. We are holding discussions with various partners of the government in phases. These discussions will continue.
Regarding the protest over the resignation of the President, he said, we have asked them (protesters) to leave there. Security has been strengthened there.
Asked whether Sheikh Hasina has resigned from the post of Prime Minister or not. Recently, there has been a huge reaction to a statement made by President Md. Shahabuddin. In this situation, leaders and activists of several organizations have been standing in front of Bangabhaban since Tuesday afternoon demanding the resignation of the President.
In addition, the anti-discrimination student movement also protested at the Central Shaheed Minar today. In this situation, law adviser Asif Nazrul, information advisor Nahid Islam and IGP Md. Mainul Islam met Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed. Apart from them, RAB DG AKM Shahidur Rahman and DMP Commissioner Md. Mainul Hasan were present at the meeting.
