Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam said, if the media is attacked or vandalized, we will definitely take action. However, the people are not getting the support from the media as they expected. The role of the media was questioned in the past. There has been anger in the minds of people for various reasons. It is the responsibility of the media to clarify that.

He said this after a meeting with the Dhaka Reporters Unity delegation at the Information and Broadcasting Ministry's conference room at the Secretariat on Tuesday (November 26).

He said that people have been angry at various media outlets. It is necessary to clarify to the people why this anger has arisen. However, if any media office is vandalized, the government will look into it. Many established media outlets in the country are still spreading false news and rumors.

Recently, the protests and attacks in front of The Daily Star and Prothom Alo offices are a threat to the media. In response to the question of what kind of action you will take in that case, the adviser said, "I said yesterday that the government will play its role from the place where the law and order situation has been created. If the newspaper office is vandalized, we will definitely look into it legally."

Stating that the interim government will ensure all kinds of environment to ensure the freedom of the media, the information adviser said, the ministry has less scope to take action against the friends of fascism in the media. The newsrooms will have to make decisions here. Changing the tone immediately is not the solution; national reconciliation is possible by accepting the truth. Stating that he does not want to dismiss everything by just accusing it of conspiracy, Nahid Islam said, "Appropriate initiatives will be taken to handle the current situation. There may be a movement out of anger. However, if it reaches the level of violating law and order, it will be seen. We do not want the police to shoot at the chest of the public like in the previous era. However, the police must be strict to avoid chaos, and the police force is being reorganized in that way."
