Train communication feasibility study begins

Lalmonirhat, (Barta24): The feasibility study of introducing passenger and goods train communication connecting four countries through Burimari-Changrabandh has started. As its part, the Railway Minister Advocate Nurul Islam Sujan will visit Lalmonirhat on Friday (March 22). He will also inspect the railway line of Kurigram.

Connection of Burigram-Changrabandh has created a new hope among the land port business men and passengers at the feasibility study of rail communication connecting four sub-continental contiguous countries.

The Minister Advocate Nurul Islam Sujan will start from Kamalpur railway station in the evening of Thursday (March 21) by rail enroute to Lalmonirhat. The Minister is supposed to reach Lalmonirhat on Friday (March 22). Then he will go to Burimari land port by ‘shuttle train’.

If permission of Indian authority is obtained then the Minister will go further 500 yards inside Indian soil to inspect Changrabandh railway station.

Divisional Railway Manager Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman has confirmed that discussion about Minister's visit is going on between BGB and BSF.

After the visit of the Minister, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's commitment of an intercity 'Tin BIgha Corridor Express' train connecting Changrabandh to Dhaka via Burimari will be introduced.
