Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed separate lanes for slow moving vehicles along with widening the roads and highways in the country.
Sheikh Hasina gave the instruction during a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC), said Planning Minister MA Mannan while briefing reporters on Tuesday.
Planning Minister said: “In addition to ordering a bus-bay on the highways, she has also asked for land to be allocated so that the private entrepreneurs can provide facilities.”
Prime Minister approved 13 projects in the meeting. The projects will cost Tk 77.44 billion amongst which the Tk 64.15 billion will come from the government, Tk 18.9 billion from the organisation’s own fund while the rest of the Tk 11.4 billion from project assistance.
Of the projects, 10 are new while the remaining three are revised projects.
