One person found dead after a building collapse at Patuatuli area of Old Dhaka on Wednesday.
Details of the deceased yet to be identified.
Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters’ duty officer Rasel Shikder said: "We have recovered one body from the spot and rescued another from debris.”
The fire service official told Barta24.com that two people went missing after a two-story residential building collapsed at sixth lane near Sumona Hospital at Patuatuli area.
Three units of fire service still working in the spot, he added.
We have heard that some people were trapped inside the building. But we can’t confirm it," Kotwali Police OC Shahidur Rahman told Barta24.com.
Local people said the building was up to 100 years old and was abandoned.
