JSD Chhatra League president Ahsan Habib Shamim and general secretary Rashidul Haque Nani in a statement on Saturday protested the BUET administration-imposed ban on student politics.
They said banning student politics following the the murder of BUET student Abrar Fahad was not the solution to the problem. This decision by the BUET administration is like a decision to cut off the head for a headache.
They also said that it is the responsibility of the administration to ensure that no one can run torture cell, violent force can't eb formed in campus or halls.
The Jasad Chhatra League leaders observed BUET administration had banned student politics by blaming student politics for failure of the administration itself to ensure security for the students.
Citing doing politics or organizing is a basic democratic right, they called BUET students not to accept the decision of banning student politics.
