DU authority terminates five teachers

Five teachers of University of Dhaka lost their jobs. They have been sacked on the ground that they had been on study leave for a long time as well they did not keep any contact with the University authority.

It was learnt that in the syndicate meeting held on last Wednesday (Nov.27) evening, the decision was taken. Besides, two employees were also dismissed on the ground that they had been involved in indiscipline activities. The meeting was chaired by VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman.

The terminated teachers are – Assistant Professor of Mathematics department Sanowaruddin Ahemd, Associate Professor of Finance department Mohammad Mujibul Kabir, Associate Professor of Accounting Information Dr. Mosammat Asma Jahan, Associate Professor of Biochemistry department Dr. Mohammad Sohel Shamsuzzaman and Electric & Electronic Technology department Lecturer Ayesah Jaman.

The employees who were sacked in the syndicate meeting are Ajit Chandra Bhowmic, Peon cum Guard of Engineering department and Senior Assistant of Transport department Mohammad Kamruzzaman.

Earlier on the last September 29 in the syndicate meeting two teachers were also dismissed when then failed to join after their leave ended.
