The Detective Branch (DB) of police is sending investigation reports on 200 online media outlets to the information ministry today (Dec 3) as part of their registration process, the home minister has said.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told Barta24.com at his office on Tuesday, “I’ve just asked the SB chief to send the investigation reports already done on online newspapers to the information ministry.”
“They will send reports on 200 online media outlets today. The reports on the rest of the outlets will be sent in phases,” he added.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said earlier that his ministry will start giving registration to online media outlets from next week.
He said completion of the registration will take time as over 3,500 media outlets have applied for registration.
