The hearing of the bail petition of the convicted BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will be heard on Thursday (Dec.12) in the Appellate division of the Supreme Court.
In the background of December 5 incident the authorities have beefed up security measures in the Supreme Court premises. Security people are checking the people and only the authorized people are allowed in the court.
The bail petition is on number 6 of the day’s working list. The petition will be heard by the bench consisting of 6 judges headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain.
On December 5 when the bail petition could not be heard as the medical report did not reach the court. At this, the lawyers of Khaleda Zia created a pandemonium in the court suspending the normal court proceedings as all the judges left their seats.
The lawyers of Khaleda Zia shouted slogans ‘We want Justice’ and sat stand still in the court room which was ‘unprecedented’ as observed by many. However, the medical report of Khaleda Zia has reached the court on Wednesday (Dec.11).
