Dhaka: Directorate of Health has finally ordered the closure Regent Hospital RAB unearthed 4,500 fake corona tests raiding the hospital and the elite force also sealed the health center.
This information was given in a circular signed by the Director (Hospitals and Clinics) of the Health Directorate Aminul Hasan on Tuesday (July 7).
Regent Hospital Limited, Uttara and Regent Hospital Limited, Mirpur Dhaka (both private hospitals) have been providing medical services to Covid-19 patients since March this year. But on last Monday (July 6) during the RAB operation through a mobile court at Regent Hospital Ltd., Uttara branch (main branch) various irregularities were caught.
According to the published news, the hospital is unjustly collecting huge amount of money from two patients. It has been proved that the hospital authority has squeezed money by giving false reports in the name of RT-PCR examination without approval and has committed more irregularities including not renewing the license of the hospital despite being urged.
Due to these irregularities and in accordance with The Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories Regulation Ordinance-1982, the activities of the hospital were ordered to be stopped immediately.
Earlier in the morning, RAB executive magistrate Sarwar Alam said RAB had filed a case against 16 people, including the chairman of the Regent Group Md. Shahed, for cheating people in corona test.
