Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader along with the party’s central leaders and various political, social and cultural organizations paid glowing tributes to national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam by placing wreaths at his grave on the premises of Dhaka University central mosque marking his 122nd birth anniversary.
After paying homage, Obaidul Quader has urged the countrymen to build a non-communal country led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the humanity spirit of Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Dhaka University vice-chancellor professor Dr Mohammad Akteruzzaman, State Minister for Culture K.M Khalid, Awami Swecchasebak League, Bangladesh Krishak League, Dhaka city south unit Awami League also paid rich tribute to the rebel poet by placing floral wreath.
Later, a doa mahfil was offered seeking eternal peace of the poet’s soul.
