‘Govt. will take action if there is evidence of militant politics in BUET’
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the government will take action if there is evidence of turning Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) into a factory of militant politics in the name of stopping student politics.
He said this in a view exchange meeting with leaders of the party's Chattogram division at the Dhaka district Awami League office in Tejgaon of the capital on Sunday (March 31) at 11 am.
Regarding the ongoing movement of students in BUET, Obaidul Quader said, "No one was spared in the killing of Abrar Fahad in BUET. Leaders and activists have been punished in Biswajit's murder, no one has been exempted. BUET incident is also under investigation.
Obaidul Quader said the killers of Bangabandhu in 1975 created controversy over the announcement of independence.
He also said that today leaders like Moin Khan talks about restoration of democracy. Some call BNP leaders restoration of democracy, while others say boycott of Indian products.
General Secretary of Awami League said that upazila elections are ahead. You go as directed by the leader. Your proposal was not to field any candidates. You have to behave very responsibly. Each person's different speech confuses the group. Say whatever you want? It is not Awami League, we will take action if we talk in free style.
Awami League presidium member Engineer Mosharraf Hossain presided over the exchange meeting and presidium member Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, joint general secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif, Organizational Secretary Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan, Office Secretary Biplab Barua, Information and Research Secretary Dr. Salim Mahmud, Relief and Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Aminul Islam Amin, Agriculture Affairs Secretary Faridunnahar Laili, Finance Affairs Secretary Wasika Ayesha Khan, Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan and others were present.
Apart from this, members of Parliament of Chattogram Division, District, Metropolitan, Upazila Awami League leaders were also present.
