The Awami League (AL) has issued a show-cause notice to Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Jahangir Alam for allegedly carrying out activities against the interests of the Awami League and breaching organizational discipline.
The notice was signed by AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday (October 3).
Gazipur Metropolitan Awami League general secretary Jahangir Alam was asked to reply the notice within next 15 working days.
AL office secretary Biplob Barua confirmed this information to media.
Mentionable, a week ago, a video of Gazipur City Corporation mayor and City Awami League general secretary Jahangir Alam was spread on social media. In the video, Mayor Jahangir is heard expressing doubts about the number of 30 lakh martyrs of the liberation war.
