The party is taking to the field to strengthen the unity of Awami League leaders and workers at the grassroots level. The message of strong unity will reach the grassroots Awami League by next December-January. It is planned to conclude the grassroots level conference by resolving the disputes of various units of the party through organizational tours across the country and announcing the dissolution of the expiring committee. For this, the party is intensifying the ongoing member recruitment and renewal activities. The goal is to strengthen the party organizationally ahead of next year's 12th Jatiyo Sangsad elections, including the National Conference.

In this regard, Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua said that a meeting of the Central Executive Committee has been convened on November 19. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the meeting. There will be important decisions to be made to strengthen the team organizationally.

Responsible leaders said that only 33 out of the 78 organizational districts of the Awami League have been formed so far, despite a series of initiatives in which political activities came to a standstill during the corona period. There are 43 organizational district conferences left. Most of the upazila, pourashava and other unit committees have also expired a long time ago. And since the conference has not been held for a long time, a sphere of absolute power has been created in almost all places. Conflicts are on the rise and organizational activities have slowed down which is affecting the ongoing local government elections. Leaders of selfless, efficient and clean image are wrapping themselves up in frustration of not getting a place in the team. In this situation, the party also has a plan to build new leadership with leaders with an efficient and transparent image after concluding various conferences.

Responding to a question about the Awami League's disputes in the local government elections, Awami League presidium member and former commerce minister Lt. Col. (Retd) Farooq Khan told Barta24.com that despite misunderstandings within the party in the ongoing union parishad elections Will be The leaders in charge of the organization will present their report at the meeting of the parliamentary committee. According to the report, our leader Sheikh Hasina, chairperson of the parliamentary committee meeting, will discuss and decide what to do.

Responding to a question on what could be discussed at the working committee meeting, he said organizational activities would resume from December-January. Over the next two to three months we will discuss the activities of all the programs we have.

With two years left before the parliamentary elections, we have started preparations for the parliamentary elections. In addition to preparing for the 12th election, we are ready to participate in any local government election. Accordingly, we have been instructed organizationally.

He said the decision on Gazipur Mayor Jahangir Alam would be taken at a meeting of the central executive committee. Also present on the meeting day will be some of the issues to be presented against organizational discipline.

He also ruled out the possibility of discussing the formation of an election commission, adding that no decision has been taken within the party to keep the candidates open in the 4th and 5th phase of UP elections.

All in all, the Awami League wants to make all plans to strengthen the party by ensuring unity within the party before the next national election. Obaidul Quader, the party's general secretary and Bridge Minister, said in a recent program that the party has already started preparations for the next national elections. He also said that the organizational activities of the party will be intensified in the coming days to take this preparation forward.
