Dhaka: Leaders of the 14-party alliance have claimed that the BNP-Jamaat alliance wants to form an "unusual government" by creating a volatile situation in the country keeping secret relations with Pakistan.

They said political parties, including the BNP, which have political partnerships with Jamaat-e-Islami-Al-Badr-Razakar's and pro-Pakistan parties, should be eliminated. They have to say goodbye to the political arena.

They made the remarks at a virtual discussion meeting on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Independence and the Year of Mujib on Sunday (December 19).

Amir Hossain Amu, one of the members of the advisory council of the Awami League, said that the BNP has taken up the issue of Khaleda Zia’s going abroad today. But in these two years, they have not even pasted a poster demanding the release of Khaleda Zia. This is not their issue. It is their call to create a politically unstable situation in the country at the behest of their mentors.

The BNP is in happy mood so much that they have no idea of bringing doctors from abroad to treat Khaleda Zia with their own money. They are talking about a bizarre proposal to take her abroad. The BNP does not really want Khaleda Zia's treatment.

Hasanul Haque Inu, president of the JSD, said anti-independence forces had not changed their appearance. They still have contacts with Pakistan. They are militarizing, trying to form an unusual government. Mentioning that the BNP is conspiring with boycotting the elections and proposing an unusual caretaker government, Inu said that the seeds of establishing another unusual government were publicly sown by the BNP a few days ago with the proposal to form an unusual caretaker government and by proposing the resignation of Sheikh Hasina's elected government.

Participating in the discussion, Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak said that the war of liberation was fought not only for geographical independence but also for economic liberation. When we are celebrating the golden jubilee of the 50th year of victory, the communal forces have risen to the occasion. In order to prevent these, the spirit of liberation war must be sharpened. The spirit of liberation war must be established in all spheres of state and social life, not the sparkle of words.

Dilip Barua, general secretary of the Samyabadi Dal said that the nation should move forward unitedly by adopting its political ideology to build Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla.

Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari, chairman of Tarikat Federation, said, " Had there been no Bangabandhu we could not speak and we could not have become leader”. There can be nothing more heinous than those who celebrate their birthday on 15th August. They are anti-independence. No matter what the BNP said, the BNP-Jamaat is in fact anti-independence. Those who misinterpret religion for the sake of politics must stand up against those who seek to gain by politics. Those who speak against independence and government in the name of waz mahfil, their wazs should be stopped.

Among others who addressed the meeting were Workers Party leader Kamrul Islam, Jatiya Party JP Presidium member Ejaz Ahmed Mukta, Gana Azadi League president Advocate SK Sikder, Ganatantra Party general secretary Dr. Shahadat Hossain. Awami League Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan was present at the meeting. Mrinal Kanti Das, Liberation War Affairs Secretary of Awami League conducted the program.
